Groundworks for vehicle garage
We recently completed groundworks for a large garage 16m x 8m up to slab foundation level.
Before construction works could begin, several hundred tons of soil had to be removed from site and replaced with stone to bring to level. We used our 20T Case excavator with steelwrist to remove soil and load our two tractors towing dumpboxes. In a nearby quarry we had our 13T Hitachi excavator loading stone into our tractors to take back to site to be levelled and compacted.
Once the site was dressed up to ground level we began construction work on the slab. Timber shutters were built and pinned into place followed by polythene and two layers of mesh. We poured the main slab first and once set we poured a large 5m ramp with acco drainage channel to provide access into the building.
