Forest Regeneration in Glen Mallie
Throughout the winter of 2025/2026, our team has been hard at work on a major forest regeneration project in Glen Mallie.
The project kicked off with the construction of 6,000 meters of robust deer fencing. To protect local wildlife, we installed bird-strike battening on over half of the perimeter. We also integrated 12-foot deer gates at strategic locations to ensure easy access for future maintenance, alongside self-closing pedestrian gates for public access.
With the perimeter secured, our focus shifted to preparing the ground. Our team moved on to mounding the newly created block, which covers approximately 126 hectares. By incorporating random hinge mounds, we have established the ideal soil and drainage conditions to give native tree saplings the best possible start.
It has been a privilege to play a role in this vital conservation effort, and we look forward to watching this landscape transform and thrive in the years to come.
